1119. Mitopure (Urolithin A): The Anti-Aging Molecule that Makes You Younger and Stronger

TL 1 POM JUICE BEAKER STACK

I talk a lot about mitochondria. They’re the power plants of your cells, and if you do things that make them stronger, your body will produce more energy at a cellular level. Improving your mitochondria is one of the easiest ways to upgrade your performance and make your body work better.

I’ve also talked about autophagy, which is like spring cleaning for your cells. Autophagy is Greek for “self-eating,” and that’s exactly what happens: when you turn on autophagy, your cells look inside themselves, replacing any damaged or old parts with shiny new versions. Autophagy makes you biologically younger, and triggering autophagy on a regular basis is a powerful anti-aging strategy (by the way, fasting is one of the best ways to activate autophagy).

Today I want to talk about a game-changing new molecule that activates mitophagy: autophagy inside your mitochondria. It rolls back the clock on aging and makes your mitochondria stronger, all in one go. It’s called Urolithin A, and until recently, only a few people have had access to it.

How Urolithin A Makes You Younger and Stronger

Urolithin A is an unusual compound. Most people can’t produce it because you need a rare combination of gut bacteria that metabolize the precursor compounds (ellagitannins – a type of polyphenol found in colorful fruits) into Urolithin[*].

If you’re one of those lucky few, you have access to a superpower most of us miss. Urolithin A cleans the junk out of your mitochondria and keeps them running in tip-top shape, and you stay younger and stronger as a result.

I know for a fact that it doesn’t matter how many pomegranates or berries I eat — I’m not a natural converter, so my only choice is to consume Urolithin A in its active, purified form.

Until recently, research-grade Urolithin A was only available to scientists in very limited quantities and at astronomical prices.

That’s why I was so excited to speak to the inventors of Mitopure – the first clinically backed, purified form of Urolithin A that’s available to the general public. You can watch my full interview with the founders here:

What The Research Says About Urolithin A

There are over 100 pre-clinical trials that have found benefits to taking Urolithin A. Here are a few highlights:

  • Urolithin A triggered mitophagy and extended lifespan by 50%[*] in C. elegans, a type of worm (it may sound weird, but it shares a shocking amount of genetic code with humans).
  • Mice who took Urolithin A showed a 40% increase in running endurance, thanks to increased muscle energy output and faster recovery[*].

Human research has found impressive benefits to Urolithin A as well.

  • People who took Urolithin A daily showed a significant increase in muscle function and mitochondrial energy production[*].
  • Taking 500mg of Urolithin A was ~6X better at triggering mitophagy than drinking 8 ounces of pomegranate juice (that’s assuming you can naturally convert Urolithin A in the first place)[*].

Mitopure is a simple way to upgrade your mitochondria. I take it every morning to boost my Urolithin A levels, slow down aging, and increase my muscle output.

I only recommend compounds that I use and that actually do something. Mitopure is worth your time; you may be surprised by how much it increases your daily energy levels.
