All about natural ingredients, skincare standards, and ways to upgrade your body’s largest organ.

… you’ll learn about skincare ingredients that can either nourish or harm your skin. You’ll find out about standards in skin care products, what “clean beauty” means, and what to look for on product labels.
Andy Hnilo, founder of Alitura Naturals, joins the show to talk about skin fitness from the inside out and why using skincare products with ingredients found in nature is the way to go. That means things like pearls, meteorites, clay, CoQ10, enzymes and more.
“When you look good, you feel good,” Andy says. “You’re going to create better energy and create a ripple effect to everybody you meet personally and professionally, I believe.”
This conversation gets into ways you can get better skin by:
Improving skin health also means avoiding fillers and chemicals. Toxins both in skin care products and the environment tremendously impact your skin. Acne no longer drives only teenage angst. Adult acne continues to rise, with women affected more than men. Acne affects more than 50% of women between the ages of 20 and 29 and more than 25% of women between the ages of 40 and 49. (American Academy of Dermatology 2012.)
Andy himself struggled with acne—so he knows the toll it takes from outside appearance to inner emotional roil. So, he searched for answers: “It was the products that I was using and then also what I was ingesting,” Andy says. “What I was putting into and onto my body.”
This get-smart guide to product ingredients, environmental awareness and lifestyle tips can help you find your own skin solutions
More about Andy Hnilo: An accident changed the course of Andy’s life in March 2011. His rising career in the entertainment industry was put on hold after he was hit and run over by two vehicles while crossing the street. He experienced one of the worst compound jaw fractures his surgeon had ever seen (it was broken in several places), seven broken ribs, and a collapsed lung.
His disappointment in the products recommended by his surgeons to heal his unsightly scarring and abrasions propelled him in a different direction. He went to herbalists, estheticians, and skincare specialists’ advice on scar healing and overall recovery. His healing journey led him all over the world and inspired him to found Alitura Naturals. He started the company by mixing ingredients in his apartment and has grown to an internationally recognized and award-winning skin care line.
